Shanta – “Teaming up with the best gold producer in Africa”
Shanta Gold is a young mining company with a conscience, based in western Tanzania. While keeping good returns for shareholders, the company has been a leading example of socially responsibly business, providing support for neighbouring communities’ development projects and keeping environment damage to an absolute minimum. Q Partnership has played a role over the last 5 years in assisting the company to develop and review its strategic plan. Eric Zurrin (CEO) in his closing address at the 2018 strategic review, stated that the process had been:
- An opportunity to check progress against ambitions and commitments made in the previous planning period
- A chance for the team to get away and reflect, bond and reach for a better mutual understanding
- The independent facilitation and outside advice threw a new angle on the thinking and the planning logic
We are proud to be associated with a business that not only shaved $5m off their costs but was the top performing gold company in Africa in 2018, whilst making a responsible contribution to the community.
